Singing first. Please prepare 25 bars of an uptempo rock & roll number from 1967-1972 or an uptempo piece from a rock musical, and 25 bars from either a musical ballad, blues song, or slow rock song. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Please also prepare a one-minute contemporary comedic monologue. Note that, due to time constraints, it is possible that not every performer will be asked for all three pieces.
Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.
Seeking:
George Berger/Tribe: Male, 18 – 25. Rock baritone/tenor. Activist, recently banned from high school. Gifted comedian. Headstrong and confrontational in a charming manner. Leader of the tribe. High energy, athletic, wild. Sings “Donna,” “Going Down,” “Hair,” etc. Full nudity required (no nudity at auditions).
Hud/Tribe: Male, 18 - 25, African American. Soul/rock baritone/tenor. Speaks his mind; not afraid to get in your face. High energy, spiritual performer with a strong voice and presence. Sings “Aquarius,” “Colored Spade,” etc. Full nudity required (no nudity at auditions).
Steve/Tribe: Male, 18 - 25, African American. Rock baritone/tenor. High energy. Must be a versatile singer-dancer. Part of the tribe and will figure prominently in “What a Piece of Work Is Man,” the black boys trio, “Aquarius,” etc. Full nudity required (no nudity at auditions).
